Finishing Touches

You'll have to wait a while for something this spacious....

...but you will need a place to work on researching and applying to colleges. Ideally, it should be a space dedicated to this purpose from the middle of junior year until spring of senior year. You can waste huge amounts of time looking for misplaced papers and supplies. Find places to store and work on your applications and you will be way ahead of the game. An A+ college work station would include:

A Tray or Box for College Mail

Collect college-related mail and go through it on a regular basis. Keep the interesting stuff, and send away for additional information from those schools. Recycle the rest.

A Writing Surface

Whether it’s a desk, a card table, or plywood on sawhorses, your work station would ideally be dedicated to college matters and not disturbed from one session to the next.

A Computer with an Internet Connection and Printer

A Shelf for College Guides and Catalogs
A Portable Filebox with Hanging Folders for Application Materials
